This policy explains what we collect when you visit eascend.co, buy from us or join our newsletter, and what we do with it. "We" means Eascend, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. We are the controller of your personal data.
What we collect
When you buy something:
- Your email address and name, so we can deliver the product and send your receipt.
- Your billing country and payment details. Stripe collects these. We get your country, the last four digits of your card and the payment status. We never see your full card number.
- A record of the purchase: which product, when, the order reference, how many times a download link was used, and the ID of any license key we issued.
When you join the newsletter: your email address and when you signed up.
When you visit our sites: basic technical data such as pages visited, referring site, rough location from IP address, browser and device type. We use this in aggregate to see how the site is used. We don't use advertising trackers.
When you use VizAmp: VizAmp activates offline. The app does not send us your license key or any usage data. To check for updates, it contacts GitHub, which hosts our releases. GitHub sees your IP address when it does.
Why we use it
- To deliver what you bought, and support you afterwards. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To keep financial and tax records. This is a legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and misuse of license keys and download links. This is our legitimate interest.
- To send the newsletter. Only with your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand site usage and improve our products. This is our legitimate interest, using aggregate data.
We don't sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
Who handles it for us
We use a small number of providers to run the store. Each one only processes your data to provide its service to us:
- Stripe: payments, receipts, tax calculation.
- Supabase: database for purchase and license records (hosted in the US).
- Resend: sends delivery emails.
- Kit (ConvertKit): newsletter.
- Vercel: hosts our checkout and download service (pay.eascend.co), plus its analytics.
- Framer: hosts eascend.co.
- GitHub: hosts VizAmp downloads and updates.
Some of these providers are in the United States. Where data moves out of the EU, UK or other regions with transfer rules, we rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Purchase and license records: 7 years, for tax and accounting, and so we can resend your product or reissue a key.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Site analytics: in aggregate, no longer than the provider's retention period.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, or object to or limit how we use it. You can withdraw consent to the newsletter at any time. Email info@eascend.co and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep purchase records the law requires us to hold.
If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Our products aren't aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced on the site.
